"It definitely has the wow factor."
Kim Melinda Skinner | United Kingdom
I found this guest house which was close to where my family live. We booked out the whole guest house for most of our trip with other family as well.
We knew it would look slightly different to the photos and this was the case - the guest house itself, rooms and sitting out areas are far far better - it definitely has the wow factor. Both Mel and Nana (the owners) make you feel more like family than guests and it was fantastic to chat to Nana in the mornings and Mel in the evenings.
The breakfasts were lovely - we had Indonesia so Nasi Goreng, egg, fresh fruit and coffee - set us up for the day. It is based outside Central Jakarta but well worth staying here as a little oasis away from it all.
We were offered (by family) to move to a hotel for the wedding but wanted to come back "home" in the evening so stayed at the guest house and we are so happy we did.
Not only did Nana & Mel look after us but also my family when they came over to either pick us up or just drop in for coffee.
Words cannot express how fantastic this place is - we will certainly be coming back again.
The property was "as advertised".
I recommend the location.
The property was a good value for the price paid.
The property provided wifi/internet access.
Pesona Guest House was a delightful surprise – it is gorgeously furnished and really comfortable. It is quite spacious - even though there are just 3 guest rooms, there are about 8 different seating areas: many couches, a porch swing, tables by the pool and on the roof, antique plush chaise longue.
The mattresses are opulently comfortable, and everything is kept immaculate. It is also very quiet and there is plenty of privacy. The most special part though, is the family – they are welcoming and helpful, but also non-intrusive.
We didn’t expect to join the family for dinner so often, but we loved the lively conversation, the food, and the sense of belonging that we felt. They also helped us arrange transport (at times even giving us a ride themselves), and were invaluable resources on navigating life in Jakarta.
5 stars doesn't even do Pesona Guest House justice. We will stay there again and again.

" We have been in many places in Jakarta,
but we will never forget this one!"

What a great, beautiful and peaceful place in the heart of Jakarta!
From this particular area away from all the traffic, you can reach everything easily such as shopping malls, the best restaurants, tourist attractions etc...
The landlord and landlady are the best and friendliest you can get in this city. Really everything on and around the house is to the last detail.
Hygiene and quality are paramount. Not to mention the beautiful furniture and design which you will find enchanting. The staff is super friendly and profesional. The room was large and very special. You can really unwind after a long journey. The breakfast is delicious and enough choices from western to really indonesian style.
Personally, we have been in many places in Jakarta, but we will never forget this one!
A HIDDEN GEM
Hospitality, service and friendship.
Everything was perfect when we stayed at the Pesona Guest House.
Nana is amazingly thoughtful and attentive and Mel is a very kind and interesting man. They have three rooms, which creates such a warm and family atmosphere. The rooms are comfortable and have everything that you would need.
Outside of the private rooms there is much space to lounge and talk with the hosts or other guests. There are plenty of books, movies and there is even a beautiful grand piano and swimming pool.
The food was delicious and beyond sufficient amounts were served. Real cappuccino too! I will only stay at Pesona Guest House when I visit South Jakarta.

Pesona GUest House enough . . ."

It was my first time in Jakarta, Indonesia and I was traveling with my daughter but at the Pesona Guest house we did find more than accommodation, we found a family! We have been looked after very well by Nana & Mel and their incredibly efficient staff. They are all very lovely people and Nana has an outstanding sense of hospitality.
They made us feel very special. We were supposed to stay 4 nights and we added 6 more nights!!!! The breakfast was very good and has plenty of variety, plus Nana with her very friendly personality made our breakfast even more special.
We had dinner every night at the guest house and that was outstanding too, not to mention the company again. Good size rooms, spotless clean, very quiet and with great beds; the bathrooms new and nice!
I can’t recommend Pesona Guest House enough and if I do go back to Jakarta I will definitely stay there again.
Once again Nana & Mel thank you very much for the great time at your Guest House. Paola and Isabella from Italy.

This little guest house is quite extraordinary. It is spacious, the rooms are great, and the breakfast is superb.
The people running it are very welcoming and treat you as a house guest.
We loved it, and if we find ourselves back in Jakarta, this where we will stay.
We stayed for two days in Pesona Guest House. What must I say. Everything was marvellous. The food, the room and the house. In the house are so many interesting details. The owner couple are very pleasant and nice to talk with.
We’ve been in 17 hotels, guesthouses and whatever in Indonesia. This is the most beautiful place we’ve been. Is there anything that was not good in Pesona? No there wasn’t.
Nana and Mel, we hope you to see once again in this lifetime.

PESONA COOKING CLASS
Ibu Nana is really a great host and teacher, as I attended the cooking class at her place. She is very helpful in making sure I understand the recipe and ingredients and all the cooking is just absolutely delicious.
2 thumbs up!
What a great place! The only reason I give it 4 stars is because it is not a hotel and therefore you will not have all the amenities of a hotel (but almost!).
I like it better than a hotel because I like unique, personalized service and character. Pesona has all of these things, and is just so beautiful physically with impeccable furnishing, floral arrangements, decor, refreshments and snacks, access to a gorgeous wrap-around balcony, pool, good WiFi, TV in the room, etc. Pretty amazing.
Breakfast was to order at the time I requested and delicious! Eggs, raisin toast, cereal, fruit, juice and coffee. They made Indonesian food for Indonesian guests and are extremely adaptable for personal taste.
And the owner even drove me to my meeting when the taxi (she called for me) didn't arrive on time! Very service-oriented.
The only drawbacks are lack of a restaurant (they do cook for you, however, at request for a small fee for dinner) and the location is residential rather than central business district. For me it was perfect because my meeting was very close by and there aren't a lot of hotels that serve that particular area. But this might not be convenient for some.
The owners are very friendly and we had several nice chats about life in Indonesia, Canada and the US (I'm American and the owners are an Indo-Canadian couple). Overall completely relaxing with every detail attended to.
I'll be back!

We stayed 10 days at Pesona Guest House and we have to say, we immediately felt very comfortable. The guest house has three nice rooms and the atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxed. Moreover, the guest house is beautifully and tastefully decorated.
On top of that, the hospitality is outstanding and the food is very good. Nana does an excellent job and always takes care of the personal needs of her guests. Together with her husband, Mel, they make their guests feel at home from the very first minute. The staff of Pesona Guest House is very helpful and polite, and the food they prepare is very tasteful.
We had a wonderful time at Pesona Guest House, and, being back in Holland, we still recall the wonderful days we enjoyed there, and we even consider Nana and Mel to be part of our family now!
This compliment they really deserve and, for sure, when we are in Jakarta again, we will, of course, stay at Pesona Guest House.
Dear Nana, many thanks and love.
Our time at Pesona Guest House is unforgettable. It is an ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL HOME, not like any other Jakarta guest house inn! As much as my husband and I always like to travel "simply", you know . . . "bungalow style" . . . we thoroughly enjoyed the luxurious atmosphere of Pesona Guest House. Jakarta is a wonderfully wild and crazy city with so much to do and so much local culture to experience . . . but at the end of a day in the chaotic City, it sure was nice to retreat back to our beautiful bed n breakfast with its marble floors, veranda, and swimming pool.
But unlike other Jakarta guest houses with such amenities, Pesona Guest House is in the midst of an authentic Indonesian neighborhood. Within minutes we could walk to local soup and sate vendors, traditional food markets, and lively night spots . . . and the main bus terminal is just a short bus or taxi ride away. I highly recommend Pesona Guest House and when we venture back to Jakarta we will definitely stay there again.

I felt very at home."

Halo Nana dan keluarga!
Just wanted to let you know I had a great time staying at your home. I felt very at home even though I'm this far away from home. Thank you so much.
Give my regards to Mel, I enjoyed our conversations very much! I wish you all the best. I'll send you my photos when I get back home.
Should you ever be in Holland don't hesitate to contact me. (Mi casa es su casa remember?!)
PS. Stadium was a bit shabby but I managed to make it outta there in one piece ;-)
Terima kasih, bye bye.
When I arrived at the Pesona Guest House I had been in Indonesia for just a few hours and was feeling a little overwhelmed by the size, heat and traffic of Jakarta. As soon as I walked through the door I was struck immediately by how large and beautifully furnished the house was. My room was nice and cool and had everything I could have asked for: WiFi, a TV, an en-suite bathroom and a large, very comfortable bed.
My hosts, Ibu Nana and Pak Mel, were warm and welcoming, which I was especially grateful for as a first-time visitor to Indonesia. They spoke English fluently, but also took the time to help me learn Bahasa Indonesia. Their food, prepared by Ibu Narti, was consistently excellent and they made every effort to cater to my dietary needs (I'm a vegetarian), which I really appreciated.
The best feature of this guest-house, however, was not the great food or furnishings, but the opportunity it gave me to live as part of an Indonesian family for three weeks. I spent many happy hours chatting, playing games and watching movies with my hosts and their family. I made lots of friends, explored Jakarta's many streets and side-walks and was made to feel at home immediately, which is the greatest service any accommodation can provide, in my opinion.
I would recommend Pesona Guest House to all visitors to Jakarta, especially those seeking to gain a feel for the city.
A great house run by a lovely family!

"An oasis is the city . . . Amazingly gorgeous
. . . near Pondok Indah Mall."
Paul & Andrea Buggy | Australia
An oasis in the city! This amazingly gorgeous BnB is beautifully furnished and has very large rooms. The accomodation, the service and the food are on par with the best hotels, and the charming host family is super-friendly and accommodating!!!
We stayed 13 nights and loved the traditional Indonesian atmosphere, free internet and pool. Laundry service was also provided.
It was our first trip to Indonesia and we didn't want to stay in a typical Western hotel, so Pesona was the perfect option for us. It was just a short walk to shops, cafes, and a traditional Indonesian market. And because of its location in a "real" Jakarta neighbourhood, we got to enjoy local vendors passing by daily and in the evenings with traditional teas and satays.
But, at the same time, the B n B is very near Pondok Indah Mall, so we could catch a movie or have some Western food whenever we wanted.
We would highly recommend Persona Guest House and plan on returning.
" Truly like coming home . . .
I've found my Indonesian
home-away-from-home in Jakarta."
Margo Arnold | Canada
The first time I visited Pesona Guest House, I was over-whelmed by the extravagant interior and was a bit apprehensive because I was seeking an environment that was unpretentious. But I knew as soon as you spoke that the thought was ridiculous. I felt instantly so comfortable and so at ease. And when I returned last month, it was truly like "coming home."
I think what I love most about your home is that there are lots of opportunities to socialize (I'll always cherish our late-night conversations and Mel's stories), but there are also ample spaces offering privacy when you want some solitude.
Please tell the staff how grateful I am for all their attention this last visit. Narti and Amina made me the best meals in the world, and Enkos and Wawan never once passed by without acknowledging me and smiling. Your staff always seems so genuinely happy that I'm there. They're just amazing - never intrusive but always there when you need them.
Thank you so much for making my first two trips to Indonesia such a meaningful experience. I took many pictures of you and Mel and the staff last month, and I'll treasure the memories until I can get back to see you all again.
Thanks for everything, Nana. The place, the food, the pool, the company - everything.
Now that I've found my Indonesian "home-away-from-home," my visits to Jakarta are just a breeze.
I should be home again sometime next February. See you soon.
